A, . ntgrair, of Denison, and J. K. Ur.e, of Austin, arrived in the city lat night for the pur pose of consulting with the street car managers here in reference to establishing a circuit of summer theaters in the vir.ous Texas cities. Thee gdiitlnn-n represent street car lines in thtir respective towns, and have also l.vl the management of places of amn-eruent built by their comnauies for tm purpose of stimu- ting street car travel. They are here with the wen 01 lornung an agreement und t which they can givo to such theatrical or operatic attractions as miy desire to visit Texas during the summer some assurance of engagements continu ing through a number of wetks or months. Heretofore attractions of merit have shunned Texas in the summer time, for the reason thu theatres open at that season wore so limited in number that they had no assurance of Hiding and place to show. These gentlemen hope to remedy that by establishing a cir cuit embracing -i huge number of towns that are already or will be provided with theaters. The visitors hae met and con sulted with Superintendent Griffith, of the Citizens' line, 3nd 'Superin tendent IIolHon. of the Uobson hue, and while nothing definite has been done, they li3ve airived at a determination to push the matter to a conclusion, and to furnish those Tex is cities fortunate enough to bo in the circuit ith a lot of first-class amusements for the summer months. A young man by the name of John U ilobley, of Waco, wanted to sorvo as conul at Acapulco, Mexico, aud was an applicant for the place. Some newspaper re porter thought that Mibley was a son. in-law of John II. Reagan, and sent a telegram to that effect. Mobloy was a hot Clark man at the late election, and this report aroused his wr3th, causing him to write a letter in which he referred to ex Senator Reagan in very uncompli mental terms. There will be a grand jury in at tendauuo upon the I'mted States court and tho state district court, and the petit jurors, the witnesses and the lawyers called to attend the various sessions will swell the list of visitors to the city to a gaod many hundred. With all these courts grinding out law it will be mighty hard luck if somebody doesn't get justice. Important Meeting. There will be a meeting of the T. P. A. rnenibera held in Waco on the 1 lth of this month which will bo of great importance to the or ganizition, and may be of great importance to the city of Waco. At that time will be considered the question of locating association headiparters and a hygienic hotel for the use of the members. It behooes the peoplo of Waco to bestir themselves in the matter of securing the plums, which are large aud juicy, and are ripe enough to fall with a little judicious shaking. The Churches. Dr. DeWitt preached another powerful ternion at the Cnmberluid Presbyterian church last night, his subject bei'ig, "Casting Out the Devils." He compared sin to a dii-ease of the body for which a physician is -ummoned to prescribe, and said that Christ was the physi cian who could bring a cure, if only the patient would accept it.
