Light, a well known citizen of Temple, was killed oarly yestor day morning by an accidental shot from his own pistol. Ho was on tho north bound Mis souri, Kaunas and Texas train and whilo tho train was taking on water at Echo, ho made a movement in his seat that uausod his six shooter to fall from his pocket. It was dis charged, and tho ball passed up through his log, severing tho artery. Physicians wero on tho train and did all they could without surgical appliances, but thoy could not stop tho blood, and ho rapidly bled to death. The body waB put off at Temple when tho train arrived there. About 7 o'clock last night fire broke out in the brink house, No. 308 Souih Eiehth street. The de- partment got on the ground prompt ly and soon had the (tames under control, though not before a good deal of damage was done. The building was damaged some 1,500, which is fully covered by insurance. II. M. T. .Kissell, who had a drug store in the building, watt damaged 2,000; insured for 1, 000. The holder of ticket No. 5002, in the Goldstein & Migel gift en terprise, will get $50 by presenting the ticket at the firm's counting room. The News today is a brief edi tion. Saturday night a Mr. Hot. aid, of Bryan, was held up and robbed by two white men in East Waco, just beyond the bridge. lie was on his way to the Waco and Northwestern depot to take the train for Bryan.
