Cady Herrick called the convention to order, and nominated Ueorgo Kitins for tem porary chairman. Colonel Knins was re ceived with applause, and proceeded to nddress the convention. His allusions to Hill aud Cleveland wore greeted with applause. 8omubody called for three cheers for Hill, but they were not - given. His condemnation of the foreign proprietorship of land und an al lusion to Oenerul Grant were also op plnnded. The chairman ruled that nil contests must be referred to tho committee on credentials. The calling of the roll was then commenced, and the names of prom inent men were loudly encored as they were read. Alleged Texas Fever. Lincoln, Neb., September 27. A fresh outbreak of Texas fever is reported from Texanah, Neb., where the disease first ap peared, three months ago. Veterinary Billings telegraphs from Texanah that native cattle are spreading the disease to other native cattle.
