A gentleman up from Chappell EDI Wedeaday talking to a reporter about the unknown malady preva lent among the cattle of that section said that in his opinion it was not hydrophobia, as had been reported, as' ho had observed the actions ot one of his cows that was effected a day or two ago, and that the symp toms were not those of hydrophobia. The wound received in the hand by Master Delbert Blackburn Tues day evening by the accidental dis charge of a six-shooter in the hands of Master Lovick Bogers, is a pretty Berious wound, .and was a narrow escape, from death. The six-shooter was a 45 calibre Colts, and the ball from it entered the hand while closed from the back passed through struct his thumb and glancing around the bono passed out of it, through his clothing and struck one of' his ribs where it was flattened out and fell without entering, having spent -its force going through' his hand'fand clothing. At Langraf Bros., book store yes terday a reporter was shown a unique old bible, which is perhaps the oldest one of its kind to be found anywhere. It is a German bible printed in 1591, heavily bound with oak board backs, covered yrith calf skin, illustrated with wood cuts, and for its ago in a good state of preservation.
