The contract for building the Sweetwater Presbyterian church was let to Mr. Ellis for 293. A new and substantial bridge is soon to be built across Little "Wichita, north of Henrietta. Texas leads all the states in the number of sheep, having 4,490,572. Ohio comes next, with 4,061,077. There are some mutterings at Terrell about the Sunday law, but it is being strictly enforced neverthe less. The contract has been let for stone work on the Cameron college building. The work was let to the lowest bidder and is to cost the city $500. The subject of navigation of the Trinity is again agitating the public mind at Dallas and a petition signed by about 200 citizens pledges an in vestigation and the agitation of the subject until a permanent company may be organized with a charter from the State. A meeting for per manent organization is to be held soon. The annaul meeting of the stock-holders of the Texas Mexican Northern railway company will be held at the office of the company at Laredo, Tex., Friday, June 20, 1S91, at 10 o'clock a, m. for the purpose of .electing directors and tho transaction of such other busi ness as may be brought before the meeting.
