As longas the weather is to be fine the tobacco will be dry, and, if thereus not too much sugar and liquorice in it, will crumble like bark But just before a rain the tobacco will get damp and flexi ble, and the moisture in the air will make it almost clammy. No one who chews tobacco need ever be without information as to a change in the weather if he will only watch his plug. Eating between meals, says a wise doctor, is a bad habit for one to acquire. It will certainly injure the digestive process and soon upsets a natural, healthy appetite for regular meals. It is a very easy habit to get into and is rather difficult to break up. If any eating is indulged in between meals, perfectly ripe, fresh fruit is the least harmful kind of refreshment.
