The grand jury made its final report and was discharged. The report is as follows : To the Hon. Geo. Anderson, Judge of the Ninth Judicial District : We. after being empaneled and duly sworn grand jurors of the June term of Claiborne county circuit court and listening to your able charge, we retired to the grand jury room, organized, and began work. We have been continuously in session for five days, examined fif ty-nine witnesses, found ten true bills, and ignored nine. The pool house was visited by committee and same reported the buildings and premises in a clean, healthy condition. The inmates were properly clothed and fed, and seemed well satisfied. There seemed no occasion to visit the county farm, as there was only one prisoner, who was reported by one of our members to be well taken care of. A committee examined the sher iff's tax books and the chancery clerk's books, and reported that, as far as they knew, they were properly kept. The jury visited the jail in a body and found it in a first-class condi tion. We are glad to find, upon inves tigation, that lawlessness is less prevalent than formerly, due to the efficient work of former grand juries. In submitting this, our report, we feel that we have covered all the ground and have faithfully dis charged our duty. We, therefore, beg that this report be accepted and that we be finally discharged. CHAS. S. KENNARD, Foreman. MONDAY J. D. Bridger vs Geo. W.
