Heidenreich, after a long stay at Battle Creek Michigan, has returned to Port Gibson. Miss Ollie McGill of Tensas Par ish, La., was a guest of relatives here this week. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stewart and child returned Sunday from Tren ton, Tenn. Mayor M. M. Saterfield left yes terday to join his family at Mont eagle, Tenn. They will all return* next week. Misses Minerva and Janie Moun ger have returned from an extended visit to the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Byrnes near Insmore. Mr. and Mr. J. J, Mann have re turned, the former from Stafford Springs and the latter from visiting her parents in the fifth district. Mr. B. Schoenfeld and family left this week for Nashville, Tenn., where the will reside in future. They have been in Port Gibson ten years and their friends regret to part with them. Misses Hattie, Fannie and Mary Person have returned from New Or leans. Mr. O. A. Cason returned last week from atrip to Michigan. Mr. William Cahn has returned from his summer vacation, spent in Michigan and New Orleans. Messrs G. W. and J. D. Wheeless left Tuesday for Stafford Springs. Rev. M. E. Melvin returned last week from Colorado Springs and filled his pulpit Sunday. Miss Lillie H. Mason has gone to resume her school duties in Madi son parish, La, Mrs. |. B. Dudley of Utica is vis iting Mrs. R. C. McCay. Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Walne and children have been visiting relatives in Vicksburg. Mrs. S A. Marks, after a visit to her daughter, Mrs. L. B. Allen, has returned to Arkansas. Mrs. Clara Harwood has returned to Bolivar, Tenn., to resume her school work. * Mrs. Nettie Hopkins and daugh ter of Columbus are visiting their old home. Mr. Peytou Skipwitth has re turned from a two weeks' business trip to the east. Mr. J. J. McKinstry, the new principal of the Port Gibson Grad ed School, is in town ready to be gin work Monday. Rev. Mr. Purser, a Babtist minis ter of considerable note, preached at the Baptist church here Sunday. Miss Gene Hamilton has gone to Bolivar, Tenn.; to enter school. Mrs. C. D. Bloch and childreu visited her mother last week. Mr. J. M. Taylor is attending the "round up" farmers' institute at Starkville. Mrs. E. J. Davenport, Miss D. D. Davenport and Master J. Walker died here yesterday morning at 9 o'clock after a linger ing illness of malarial fever.
