the 20th, entitled “School Children and
Tuberculosis.’’
Presuming that the uational associa
tion for study and prevention are ad
visedly correct in their figures and not
yielding to undue alarm, the people
have serious reasons to halt and reflect.
The ultimate economy in spending
money to check the ravages of con
sumption can be perceived without dif
ficulty by the majority, but the prop
osition creates a rather seriously ludi
crous anomaly, inasmuch as that would
be using public money to stop some
thing that the people are legally com
pelled to pay to assist iu causing.
Of course the prejudiced, and hide
bound, the beneficiaries, and grafters,
and the medical trust, will cry down
the thought, but Jet honegt parents and
people demand a satisfactory answer to
the questions, “How can you main
lain and improve the health of the na

dren?’’ Why make all the children
sick under the plea of protecting their
health?

। in the children and frequently in the
adult working classes. Most of our
serious diseases, unquestionably, have
their inception and greatest assistance
in the practice of compulsory vaccina

individuals and the nation.
“Instruction as to avoidance’’ is
i truly desirable, and if parents and guar
dians will take the trouble to study the
matter, they will enthusiastically de-

the repeal of the law. The dethrone

in the whole schedule of possibilities.
Vaccination can and does produce
