The large number of active and influential con testants in the field has aroused groat interest even to the most exclusive people of this entire territory, and there is surely a royal fight on for the gran.l prizes. The perfect faith of all in the absolute fairness of the contest is oho of the strongest factors in Its assured success. No one is expecting to gain an advantage by any information that would profit them at the expense of another. The contest manager has never witnessed such a strictly higa classed and fair minded lot of people engage,] in a contest before. They are a .jolly, classy lot of people and abso lutely free from criticism of any sort. They are game and confident and are in this friendly measuring of strength *o win or lose with honor. They are perfectly confident of a square deal anJ that is all they ask. There never was a contest in which a squarer deal was planned and will he carried out to the, fullest meaning of that term. You will be free to admit this not only during the contest but after it is over. The winners will have a clean record. Miss Smythe’ Gets a Large Vote. Mrs. Della 8. Smythe lead the San Antonio contestants in Tuesday's vot ing and moves to a commanding posi tion iu strong district No. 4. Sloan, another verv strong biddeT for high honors nnd rich reward, was next to Miss Smythe and passes the 100.000 mark. Mrs. Luckett was next iu line with Miss Genevieve Helen Nel son, a prominent and popular young lady, close up. Miss Nelson has a large acquaintance throughout the state and will receive fine support. Miss Loretta Piggott, the second district leader, was also well remembered. John Hatikla was the only other contestant to re ceive much of a vote in San Antonio.
