Washington, March 20.—A $51,500,- 000 increase in exports was made by ' American commerce during February as compared with that month a year : ago. New phone, _440 WARD CHAIRMAN AUTHORIZED TO SELECT HELPERS At a meeting of anti-administration ward committees in the headquarters of the Commission Government league in the Frost building this morning the temporary chairman of each commit tee was authorized to select from the various precincts In his ward such men as he might need to help him In arranging the details of the ward con ventions which will be held Wednes day night. The committees were also supplied with lists of the voters in each ward to enable them to get out a full ward representation at the con ventions and to aid in the selection of the best men in each ward to at tend the city convention which will be held Monday night. March 27. The committees at once began work and will endeavor to make the ward conventions Wednesday night as rep resentative as possibly can be done. In addition to selecting delegates to attend the city convention each ward convention will nominate the aider man for that ward and for that reason the committeemen will endeavor to bring out a large attendance of voters who are opposed to the city adminis tration and who want a voice in the selection of their aidermen this spring. B. Gon zales, first vice president; Lino San chez, second vice president; S. Luna, S' cretary; H. Diaz, assistant secretary; Pete Charro and M. A. Dominguez, sergeants-at-arms. The following committee was ap pointed to formulate a constitution and hr-laws and will report at a facet ing next Sunday afternoon, when the organization will he perfected: F. G.
