the influence of powerful opiates to
relieve the terrible agony she suffer
ed It Is believed that the woman
will die Mrs Ellis was on the bal
cony of the great cafe when the
lights according to a new year cus
tom were turned out A curtain
near her caught fire and in some
way her cjothing was ignited and she
ran across the balcony a pillar of
fire She was in plain view of the
hundreds of revelers on the streets
and many women who witnessed the
sight fainted

for Estrada here today declared he
had received information that a plot
to take Estradas life had been form
ed The information says that four
assassins have been hired to kill Es
trada and it is claimed that the
agents of the deposed President Be
laya are behind the plot The repre
sentative hero refused to divulge the
source of his information but de
clared that the Zelaya following had
decided the only way to crush the
revolution was to take the life of
Estrada and so the plot was formed

Charles W Morse the convicted bank
er for an appeal will meet with bit
ter opposition Morse and his friends
admit that he is doomed to prison un
less he can get executive clemency
It is believed the petition will soon
be filed with President Taft Finan

panic will fight the move to have him

act of his administration Attorney
General Davidson who retires this
evening today paid into the state
treasury the sum of 170000 which
represents collections from the Se
curity Oil company of Beaumont the
Union Tank Line company and the

varro Refining company
