A GOOD RESOLUTION
Made By the Students of the Palestine
High School
The piano fund committee held a
meeting at 10 oclock this morning
and it was resolved that a piano
would be placed in the High School
by Friday next To carry this resolu
tion into effect they immediately left
to begin soliciting in Old Town and
were rewarded with seven dollars The
committee will continue soliciting
funds today and intend to show the
citizens of Palestine that they are in
earnest in their work
The fund stood as follows this morn

OBITUARY
Sarah E Elrod was born in South
Carolina November 30 1841 was
married to George M Elrod August
24 1SSC alid departed this life Jan
uary 2G 1910 Sister Elrod professed
religion and joined the M E chinch
South in South in Carolina August
1S5S came with her family to Texas
and settled in Anderson county in
1SCG just after the war between the
states We laid the body to rest at
Olive Blanch where so many of our
friends rest awaiting the resurrec
tion The large congregation attend
ing the burial services showed the
love and respect for her

Mr Chas Reitch left today for Min
eola having been tiansferred to the
passenger inn on the TroupMineola
branch Mr Reitch is one of the old
est passenger engineers in the service
though he is by no means an old man
He just started in eaily He says he
came to Palestine when a bov and
lias been in the service about thirty
six jeais The family will go to Min
eola about March 1 and the home
place here will be rented
These are good people and it is
with regret that Palestine gives them
up
