In Missouri Forty Thousand People
Petition For Such a Change In
the State Constitution

Jefferson City Mo March 10 The
fight for statewide inhibition in Mis
souri took on definite form today
when W H Wallace o Kansas City
filed a petition for such an amend
ment to the state constitution The
petition contains the signatures of
forty thousand persons representing
thirteen districts of the state Ac
cording to the initiative and referen
dum law only twentyfour thousand
names are required and eleven dis
tricts are necessary to be represent
ed so it is assured that the prohibi
tion amendment will be placed on the
ballots for the vote of the people at
the coming November election

Pinchot controversy the prosecution

the report received at police head
quarters twentyfive or thirty men

scene says nine of the men have been
removed from the ruins two of whom
