morning fiom Pittsburg where he at
tended the funeral of Mrs Tafts

The president spent an hour with Mrs
Taft on Ills arrival home Mrs Taft
is recovering slowly after her serious
shock on hearing of the death of Mr
Laughlin and her phjsiclans aio
anxious about her welfaie They fear
another similar attack would result

ed his New York tiip and other east
ern trips and will leave Wednesday

rector of the fashionable St Chryso
stoms Episcopal church accused of
having mistreated choir boys was
called for trial in Judge Baldwins
couit today The case against the
former minister has been pendingfor
over two years during which time
strong influence has been brought to
bear to delay the trial The details
of the charges created a big sensa
tion at the time of their publication
and soon after Kemp disappeared
from the city Recently he was re
ported to be in a sanitarium
