woman attempted to jump under the
auto in which President Taft was rid
ing en route to his hotel this morning
She broke through the line of guards
and threw herself in front of the ap
proaching auto The machine was
stopped just in time to prevent an ac
cident and the woman was hurried
away by the police The day here
began like the Donny Brook fair A
wireless telephone lineman jumped on
the rear platform of the presidents
private car and insisted on putting in
a wireless phone for the president
insisting that he be permitted to see
the president He was also taken in
charge by the secret service men
One feature of the parade was a large
auto filled with woman suffragettes
accompanied by a brass band playing
