Austin Texas May 30 Not one

Health Officer Brumby briefly an
nounced today that the Rockefeller
hook worm commission will do no
work in Texas
When asked for the reason Dr
Brumby said There are a number
of hitches we dont care to discuss
Suffice it to say there will be no
hook worm inestigauon It was im
possible for the state board of health
and the hook worm commission to get
together
The commission wanted the Jioard
to duplicate the amount to be spent
by the commission and this is not
possible it is claimed

Methodist Minister Says the Smith
County Candidate Is Not a
Visionary
The following article is taken from
the Galveston News
Bryan Texas In his circular let
ter to the Methodist ministers of Tex
as advocating the election of Judge
Poindexter for governor Rev John R
Morris of Cleburne pastor of the
Methodist church at that place makes
use of these words This is no time
for a visionary in the governors
chair Those who have kept up with
the progress of the campaign and
who keep in mind the character and
calling of the author of the sentence
will readily understand that his words
are intended to belittle the character
and candidacy of Hon Cone Johnson
the prohibition candidate for gover
nor in the present campaign It is an
echo of the sentiments put forth by
Mr Johnsons opponents and it Is
but natural that their followers even
of the better clsas should take it up
and repeat it
Personally I am under no sort of
obligation to Mr Johnson on the
contrary if I chose to be exacting
and vindictive I could easily on pure
ly personal grounds find excuse for
withholding from him my support But
my sense of obligation to a great
cause prompts me to gladly give him
my vote and whatever influence I may
have and my sense of right and jus
tice prompts me to say that all inti
mations to the effect that he is a
visionary are wholly unjustified by
the facts I lived In Tyler Mr John
sons home town for two years 1906
to 1908 traveling over a large sec
tion of East Texas and had ample op
portmity to know his standing social
ly norally professionally politically
and religiously and I unhesitatingly
affiim that Smith county as well as
all Uast Texas has no citizen in whom
the people more thoroughly confide
nor to whom they would give more en

CAUSE OF ECZEMA EXPLAINED
After years of debate medical au
thorities are now agreed that eczema
and other skin diseases are not seated
in the blood but are caused by my
riads of microscopic animals gnawing
the flesh just below the epidermis
The patient is perfectly healthy it Is
only the skin that is diseased
Hence scientists are now agreed interest and against whom money and
that you must cure the skin through
tho skin The medicine must be in
liquid form In order to penetrate prop
erly And we can say with confidence
that we have the true remedy for
eczema in our store
The instant you wash with this
soothing liquid you will find the itch
relieved AVe positively assure > ou

thusiastic support as the results will
show Mr Johnson is to say the very
least in all good respects the equal
of any of his opponents
In the range of my reading and ob
servation I have noticed that every
leader of a great and good movement
in every age of the world and in every
realm of human endeavor from the
dawn of history to the days of Glad
stone Bryan and Cone Johnson has
been called by some a visionary
Happy indeed is the state whose peo
ple have opportunity to put in the
governors office a man strongly op
posing a powerful and unscrupulous
malice combined can make no more
serious charge
I submit this testimony without ad
vice to my berthren of the ministery
or others who may be Intel ested
They are all quite as capable and vir
tuous as I and with all the facts may
be relied upon to make a jury verdict
I confidently expect most of the Mor
ris ministerial tribe now rather nu
merous in Texas related through
Adam only so far as I know to get
right in line to help win a great bat
tle for right Very truly
