NO FAULT Of WAFER GO
Mr Williams Says Pressure Was
Given as Soon as the Alarm
Reached Them
Mr Chas Williams of the Palestine
Water company says the company
was in no wise to blame for the delay
in getting water pressure at the Craw
ford home fire but that the fault was
in the tardy sending in of the alarm
He says the fire company was on the
ground with hose laid and trying to
use water from domestic pressure be
fore the company was notified fire
pressure was needed In proof of the
prompt response Mr Williams showed
the register chart showing that the
pressure jumped from sixty pounds to
ninetyeight pounds at 228 the time
the alarm was received And the
chart shows the pressure was not
more than a minute in coming up
As to the damaged fire hydrant
Mr Williams said the paving contract
ors damaged this hydrant and that
the water company notified the city
at the time and as it was the duty
of the city or the contractors to re
pair the damage it was put up to them
to make the repair
