AT SAN ANTONIO
Herald Special
Sap Antonio Texas Nov 17 Fran
cisco Madero the recognized leader
of the antiDiaz party in Mexico and
now a resident of San Antonio is be
ing watched here by sixty secret ser
vice men according to police authori
ties To the vigilance of these de

The spies are Mexicans and are said

in twelve states were frustrated and
a serious revolution averted
Nipped In the Bud
City of Mexico Nov 1G A revolu
tionary movement with ramifications
throughout at least twelve states of
the republic has just been nipped in
the bud through the vigilance of fed
eral authorities This fact became
known today The movement was at
tributed to Francisco I Madero erst
while candidate for the presidency in
opposition to General Diaz and Ri
cardo Flores Magon the notorious
revolutionist who served a prison sen
tence at Florence Ariz some years
ago for violation of the United States
neutrality laws
Arms and ammunition it was said
had been widely distributed and a
concerted uprising on a fixed date was
planned
In Guadalajara many members of
the revolutionary army had been
enrolled and commissions as officers
had been issued
Secret agents of the federal govern
ment succeeded in several instances
in seizing papers in which the plans
of the revolutionists were outlined
Effective measures were at once taken
to thrwart the proposed insurrection
