Liverpool Dec 13 Serious and
widespread revolt is inevitable as a
result of arbitrary governmental
methods in Brazil says private ad
vices received here today from that
country The messages are from
English agents on the scene The
naval mutinies are declared to be but
sympathetic of the general discontent
of the people One message says
We have suppressed two revolts but
we fear another and far more serious
demonstration against the govern
ment is being hatched

BOILER EXPLODED
Two Railroad Men Are Dead and One
Seriously Injured
Dallas Texas Dec 12 J Fesmire
aged 26 was instantly killed Ben
Hill was so seriously injured that he
died without regaining consciousness
and Mac Reed was seriously hurt
when the boiler of the Missouri Kan
sas Texas engine No 261 exploded
about 4 oclock this afternoon a mile
and a half north of Fisher a little
station six miles north of Dallas The
boiler of the big engine was lifted
from its truck and hurled 200 feet
from the track carrying with it Fes
mires body Two freight cars were
demolished three others damaged and
thrown from the rails and the track
was torn up for a distance of between
150 and 206 feet
Engine No 261 pulled a water train
between Dallas and Rockwall and left
here this afternoon about 330 oclock
The train was in charge of Conductor
A D Campbell The explosion oc
curred while the train was making a
run for the hill bejond Fisher With
out warning a seam on the underside
of the boiler burst tearing the boiler
from its mooring and throwing it
bight into the air

was Instantly killed Fireman Ben

neer Mac Reed was painfully scalded

torney Sentenced By Judge
Landis For Contempt

Chicago Dec 13 Thirty days in
jail for Mrs Allen Christopher chief
witness for the government in its
brick trust investigation here and
seventy days for John A Brown her
attorney They were sentenced to
day by Judge Landis for contempt of
court Mrs Christopher and her at
torney refused to produce certain
papers and checks which are alleged
to show civjc graft in Chicago Fol
lowing the sentence at her request
Mrs Christopher was permitted to
reveal in full the evidence she had in
order to escape jail
