A Stranger Found
Them Dead Easy
This afternoon a mart giving his
name as J E Daniels arid who says
he lives at Billiard was placed under
arrest on various charge or obtaining
goods through the use fSt worthless
checks A charge of forgery may
grow out of the transactions though
in most cases the checks were signed
by names unknown to Palestine peo
ple or to the banks on which they
were drawn He evidently found it
easy going as he bought from several
tendering the checks in payment At
the afternoon train the officers
searched the suit case of another
young man and in it found some of
the goods purchased This young man
protested his innocence and said he
had consented to have the goods
placed therein as a matter of accom
modation This young man agreed
readily to lemain over for further in
vestigation
I Mr W B Flanagan turned the
check passer in as he detained the
man long enough to go to the bank
to ascertain if trie check was good
and got a negative answer
