destruction and towards adopt
ing practical methods of refores
tation. "I recommend that Arlor Day
in New Mexico be considered a
holiday in all the schools; that
the school authorities take this
occasion to beau til y the grounds
about the buildings by the plant
ing of trees. The county school
superintendents are hereby re
quested to publish this procla
mation throughout their respect
ive counties, and to encourage
the teachers to take an active in
terest in the plans of the day.
