McKinley Looses Heavily in aNumberofHis
Solid States, Yet Makes Heavy Gains in the
Doubtful States. The Republican Com
mitte Claim 305 of the 446 Electoral
Votes. New York is Claimed by
115,000 by the Republicans.

parts of the state opto 12 o'clock
indicates that McKinlej's majority
in the state will reach 25,000.
Liscoln, Neb., Nov. 7. 12 noon.

Reports one-half the state, np
to noon today give the state to
day give the state to Mr. McKin
ley by 4,000.

An official reports from 73 of
the 102 counties indicate the state
has gone for McKinley by 100,000
majority. The race between
Alschnler and Yates for Governor
will require official count to de-c5de.
The result of the election yes
tereay was received at four differ
ent places last night in Chickasha.
The returns from the start were
indicative of the defeat of Bryan
and the pent up enthusiasm of the
democrats was kept low. The
republicans were jubilant but
modest in their outbursts.
The returns as they came in at
12 to 2 o'clock firmly clinched the
result and the different telegraph
instilments were shut down.
At two o'clock a tn tho repub
lican headquarters gave out that
"on returns received up to this
hour the republican national com
mittee claim to have elected mc
Xialcy and Roosevelt by an eloc
tani. vote of 2S4, with a possibility
of 21 votes in' addition, making a
total of 305. The states we surely
claim arc California, Connecticut,
Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana,
Maryland, Kansas, Maine, Massa
chusetts', Michigan, Jiinncssota,
Xcw York, New Hampshire, New
Jersey, North Dakota, South Da
kota, Washington, I'tah, Vermont,
Wyoming and West Virginia."'
