T and other prominent men from the Iodian Territory were in conference here Saturday night and Sunday with D. C. Lewis and other Oklahomans, for the purpose of taking steps toward calling a statehood convention, composed of delegates from both territories. The purpose of the convention is to pass resolutions memorializ ing congress to admit Oklahoma and the Indian territory to state hood as one state at the earliest passible moment. According to the plans agreed npoa the con vention is to consist of COO dele gates, with equal representation from each territory. The conven tion will meet atKonth McAlester and the date probably will be Dec ember. The later details of issu ing the call and naming the time of meeting has been left to Judge Bradford. He will act npon the matter iu a few days.
