Get the people togeth er, resolutions, send thern to congress aau let the law makers nnriersi.nid that to stop the breeding and i paring of law break ers iu the Indian territory con ditions must change. Give us the chance for schools, for churches, and the condition will change at once. Without these things civilization w.ll go on from bad to worse. Let the peo ple pish the ag'tanou for state hood, and put it before congress. The resc'.t may be good. It can't be any worse. A call for the single 6(utebood convention is 6oon to be issued and it is to be sincerely hoped that the results of this convention will be more apparent in changed conditions here than were the re sults of last February's conven tion. If nothing else is accom plished, and if congress could be induced to abolish that sinecure position no held by Junketing George Wiiht, so our people could deal directly with the de partment in mailers affecting their interests, the convention will not have been called in vain. What we most need, next to self government, is freedom from car pet ba. interference when we seek redress ct grievances from the powers at Washington. Ardrnor-iete. There is considerable single btale' hood agitation in the air and it has been proposed that a convention be called to meet at South McAlester, December 10, to discuss this ques tion in all its phases. It is propos ed to have a convention composed of 600 delegates, 300 from the Indian Territory and a like number from Oklahoma. As it is quite well known over the entire Territory Purcell is a strong advocate of single statehood and immediately upon thejeall being issned her citizens chould get to gether and select the delegates to this meeting. Select men who will do their utmost to have the will of the majority carried out. Select good epakeis and men who are not afraid to di their duty. There is certainly a way out cf the chaotic condition the territory now rests in and a meeting of the magnitude proposed will tturely re sult in a great deal of good. As is known, every disease has its remedy, and this, perhaps, may be fie right dose to give congress and may cause that augus. body to get a hustle on looking to the better ment of affairs in the Indian Terri tory. rurcell Citizen.
