Oklahoma Supporters of the Mov meut to Make the Two Ter ritories One State Adopt Resolutions. Washington, Dec. 4. Senator Fairbanks of Indiana introduced inte the United States Senate a bill today to admit Oklahoma as a state, with two representatives. The usual provisions for a consti tutional convention and the grants of lantis for state institu tions are made. ' ' Guthrie, Ok., Dec. 4. Senator Fairbank's measure providing for the admission of Oklahoma with her presents boundaries, into the anion, does not meet with the approval, it seems,' of Oklahoma. It is to gnard against the budding of a small state that the present agitation regarding single state hood, that Is, a state composed of both Oklahoma iuhd the Iudian territories prevails, 'it pointed out that while there are thousands who want a state of Oklahoma alone, or separate, statehood, the leaders of this movement are for the most part politicians. They argue that the Indian territory is weathy and can well. bear the bur dens of taXatiou. Shortly before leaving for Washington, Delegate Flynn, is an interview, said be favored a etate of Oklahoma with in her present boundaries, with out waitig for Congress to attach Indian territory lands as allot ments are made. It is believed here that Mr. Flynn is interested iu Fairbrnk'a meaenre, since the bill introduced today is thought to be along the same lines as the statehood bill introduced in con gress last year by Mr. Flynn. The Barnes administration is emphatically in favor of single statehood and the governor's adherents will a' tend the South McAlester convention in force. The passage of Fairbank's bill means the deposing of Barnes. Acting Governor Jenkins paid this evening: I believe the Fairbanks bill is what we want enacted1" Charles Filson, spokesman for Governor Barnes during the bet ter's absense, said. "The Fairbanks bill will hardly pass. It is based on Flynu's measure and prescribes a small, ungainly state. So far as as two representatives nre concerned, tnat is about right and iu accord ance with the congressional ap portionment. However, with oue big state made of Oklahoma ai d Iudian territory- the reapportion ment would give the new state at least six congressmen." SIJir.LK STATEHOOD BESOLUTlOJiS. Citizens of Logau county, re gardless of party affiliation, selec ted delegated here today to the statehood convention to be held at South JIc Vlester December 10.
