The radroads entering the In
dian territory realize that this
country Is so neaily ready for the
actual settler that they are getting
oat booklets containing informa
tion of value to farmers with refer
ence to the holding of lands in the
Indian territory. At periods ot
from one to five years after re
ceivinq his ceriificate of allot
ment the Indian can di.poe of all
of his lands except his home
stead, which remains inalienable
for a perod of twenty yoirs.
Immediately upon the cjnveniug
of the next congress that body will
be urged to pass a law allowing
the Indian to dispose of his surplus
lands at once. The Indians as
welljas the whites will clamor
for the hw and they will be back
ed by railroad iuttuence. Valid
lovia can now be given and these
leases contain a purchasing clause
giving the lessee the preference in
the purchase, and agricultural
land holders are now as secure as
property rights were to townsite

transferred its interests to J. E.
Hi ny, of Cbickasba, and his broth
er, F. P. Bray, of Ardmore, who
will have charge of the business
in the In tare. . Messrs. Sookwell
and McDaniti retiring.
F. P. Bray will prooably arrive
from Ardmore today to assume
his interest in the business. Both
f, E. and F. P. Bray are eiper
icuced men la the bottling busi
ness, and now that they have se
cured entire control of the local
plant they will make quite a na&i
ber of extensive improve iients
and additions thereto. The ca
pacity wid be largely increased
and additional, help will be em.
ployed. The brands of soda
water manufactured by this firm
have attained great local popu
larity, and the force is working
day and night to keep op with the
demand.
O, F. Miller, an expert bottler
from Hot Springs,-. Ark., who
arrived recently, is now " the
employ of Messrs. Eray & Co.
Mr. Miller .s reeogokad as one of
the fas-test and most competent
workmen in the southwest, and
his experience will be of much
benefit to the firm in in Its work.

and Representatives of Train
men's Orders are Try
ing to Agree.
Cbickasba may be in the throes
of a railroad strike before long.
Unless the Bock Island officials
and representatives of the varions
orders of conductors, engineers,
firemen and brakemcn, who are
now in conference at Chicago, can
oome together today in an agree
ment regarding the new wage
eoale, the operatives here say that
a general strike will be inauguraf
ed at 10 o'clock tomorrow morn
ing, which will result in complete
ly tying op the entire system.
Within the past month there
have been several conferences at
Chicagj bet-fecs ?"nloyers and
employes, bat Bona of these have
resulted in an agreement. At
Chicago today another conference
is in progress, which tue trainmen
say will be the last. They claim
that the wages of the Rock Island
are now lower than any of the
other great systems, but the rail
road is not willing to grant all tha
demauds of the. men.
Snpt. Tinsrfian stated to an Ex
press reporter yesterday that he
did not believe that there would
be a strike, "Neither the Eock
Island nor its employes can af
ford a strike" said Mr, Tmsman,
"Both sides have too much at
Stake. The conference at Chi
cago, I fully believe will encceed
iu adjusting the matter satis
factorily to all. Both employer
and employes will make mutual
joncessions and the matter will be
settled without a strike. The
Rock island will raise the wages
of its men, but perhaps not all of
their requests wl.l be granted."
