There will be no strike of machinists in the service of the Atchison, Topel-a & Santa Fe railway company here or at any other place along the line of the system cast of Fl raso. By the influence of J. D. Buckalew, third vice-president of the union, the men see the folly of a strike and will stay at their work. Later, possibly, a strike may be ordered, but if Mr. Buckalew and the con servative memlers of the union can in event it it will not tie on the mere ground of sympathy. It is learned that in the shops lu re, a majority of the machinists are not memliers of the union and most of the men who are memljcrs are opposed to a strike. The men so voted and it also is a fact that the majority of the union men em ployed in the S;inla Fe proper voted against a strike. How the majority west of Albuquerque voted is not known. There are some radicals here who still want to strike, but they are far in the minority.
