The weekly report of Chief Elec
trician White, in charge of the local
navy recruiting station shows that
during the week, 32 enlisted in the
navy to help "keep the road to
France open." Practically all of
these enlisted for service as appren
tice seamen.
Chief White states that he has no
ticed several girls in Chickasha wear
ing regulation navy jumpers. He
pcint3 out the fact that recently a
number of men have been arrested
for wearing government property in
the form of soldiers' clothing and
states that the girls wearlne thenavv
jumpers are violating the law as
much as the men who have been ar
rested and punished. He states that
the penalty is $r.00 or imprisonment
and that unless the fair sex of Chick
asha abandon the habit of wearing
this government property, it w". r.t
necessary for him to take action.
