CHICKASHA DAILY EXPRESS, CHICKASHA, OKLAHOMA, WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 10, 1919. J '"SX" rf r 1 r 1 H .V" J J;r.)ibrr.fo "i PAGE FOUB I i iiii.i.J I LmiJ I t I : I LikiJ f J b- J 4 In order that the public in general might know that Chickasha is to havea Refinery, and understand the plans of the Company, we use this method to get before the people STATEMENT Some months ago a Company was organized in Chickasha, known as the Chickasha Refining Com pany, whose object was to install an oil Refinery at this place. A plant site of 18 acres was purchased adjoining the City of Chickasha on the north, just off the Rock Island right-of-way; a switch was put in; cottages were built for the Superintendent and Fore man; a store room was erected and several thousand dollars worth of material was purchased, but at this stage of the procedure, misunderstandings arose and operations ceased. NEW COMPANY On June 27, 1919, the Walker Refining Company was organized and chartered under the laws of Okla homa and succeeded the former organization. The organizers of the new company, were Alex Walker, Lawton; J. E. Lawhead, Oklahoma City; C. H. Barnes, Hennessey; Geo. A. Todd, Oklahoma City. OFFICERS The present, officers of the Company are: Alex Walker, President; J. E. Lawhead, Vice President; C. H. Barnes, Secretary -Treasurer; Geo. A. Todd, Director. Mr. Walker, President of the Company, is well known to many business men of Chickasha and Grady County, and they know him to be a man of safe, sound business judgment and" absolutely reliable. He owns a valuable 1,000-acre farm near Chickasha and is a successful miller of Lawton. Mr. Lawhead, Vice President and promoter of the Company, is a man of wide experience in the oil and refinery business. Mr. Barnes, Secretary-Treasurer, has oil interests and has held positions of responsibility with the gov ernment. Mr. Todd, Director, is known over many states for the success he has made in the refinery business, and at present he is installing one of the largest plants of the south, at Vivian, La. With this line up of officials, including another Director which is to be chosen, the stockholders may rest assured that their interests will be carefully guarded. PLANS We have been greatly and unavoidably delayed, for some weeks, but are glad to notify the public, that "we are ready to offer a $75,000 block of stock for sale, in order that the plant may be rushed to completion and put into operation. It is the plan of the Company to install a 1,000-bar-rel plant at the earliest possible date, using Garber crude. When justifiable, the plant will be increased to a 2,000-barrel capacity. It is also the. aim of the Company to lay a pipe line to the Cement field as soon as the production will justify the project. STOCK The par value of the stock is $1.00 per share, and this issue of $75,000 will be sold at par. Some of the best men of Chickasha, Lawton and Grady county are .stockholders. No investment is too small to receive courteous attention, and none too large as long as the stock lasts. CONSIDER A Refinery is a valuable asset to the City of Chick ' asha and Grady Count, and an investment will prove a valuable asset to your income. This plant will be a home institution and you can watch its'activity day after day. It will be per manent. As a public enterprise and for the good of Chicka sha and surrounding country, support it. If you want your money to earn dividends for you, buy stock. A plant that is run and managed right is bound to yield splendid returns, there is no other alternative. The little plant at Lawton, whom you all know, prac tically paid for itself in the first GO days after begin ning operations. REMEMBER a Refinery has no DRY HOLES to contend with, but instead, has an ever increasing de mand for its products. Turn out the goods and your dividends will pile up. We expect to push the enterprise with all our en ergy and we need your co-operation and you need a safe investment. Let us work together for the mutual benefit of each.- You buy the stock and we will make you the money. Call at our office, or call us by phone and we will come and go over the proposition in detail if you desire. No one is eliminated whether your investment is small or great. REMEMBER first, last and all the time, that the Refinery end of the oil game is the safe proposition. " IF W 3f lJ P Ti If CHICKASHA, OKLAHOMA ROOMS 512-13, FIRST NATIONAL BANK BUILDING.
