—The business review consumes a
great deal of space, but it is good space
for Caldwell. Caldwell is the best town
of its ago and six, in Idaho for money,
marblos or chalk.
—Mr. T. H. Callaway tolls us of an
apple grown by B. F. Swalley, cf Star,
that was seventeen inches in circumfer
ence. It was a mighty apple, but that
is the kind grown in Id tho.
—A meeting of the Boise Valley Stock
Growers' association will bo held in
Caldwell at the usual place of meeting,
on Saturday, February 21, at 11 a. m.

—A piizs fight is soon to come off at
McCollum's Camp between Johnny
Bohind-the-Rox and Prof. Mike
O'Brien. Prof. Corson, ex-hcavy
weight champion, has been chosen
referee.
—While going home from school the
other day, Lizzi3 Davis, aged 9 years,
grand-daughter cf Hamilton Davis, liv
ing five miles up the river, fell from the
wagon and cut her scalp opon to tho
skull. Dr. Lee is attending her.
—We call attention to the advertise
ment of the Philadelphia Times. This
is an excellant newspaper, and parties
who so desire can see a copy at this of
fice. We will furnish that paper and
The Tribune, both weekly, one year,

Dr. A F. Isham, of Green R ver, has
been appointed assistant surgeon of the
Oregon Short Lino, with hea 'quarters

T. T. Dauilson left for Blaokfoot on
Wednesday, and will return to-morrow
with his family. Their new home on
Payette avenue is ready and we wel
come them to Caldwell.
Ruv. L. L. Shearer, of Boise City, was
in Caldwell Thursday. Mr. Shearer is
county superintendent of Ada county.
He visited the Caldwell school and we
have no doubt found everything in a
satisfactory condition.
Jno. Beatty, Jr., representing Reed,
Jones et Co., wholesale manufacturers,
boots and shoes, Omaha, and J. A.
Stephens, of Steele, Johnson & Co.,
wholesale grocers, Omaha, are in town.
The headquarters of both gentlemen are
in Ogden.
C. Ellsworth, of Boise City, the gen
eral agent of the White sowing ma
chine, was in tho city Thursday. The
boter nine-tenths cf The Tribune has
invested in a White, which she says is
"the only docent machine on earth,"
and wo'U have to begin blowing about
the merits of it pretty soon, wo sup
pose.

bering districts of Idaho and Eastern
