Dynamited a Binder About three weeks ago C. F. Joslin, living on Bntle- Island with bis family* had one of the§ Ross brothers arrested on a charge of using abusive and profane language in the presence of his wife and children. When the case was called before Judge P ck, the ac cused pleaded guilty and was fined, his brothers "making good." A few days afterwards the Rosses concocted a plan for getting re venge on Joslin and placed a stick of dynamite under a binder he had standing in a field. The explosion damaged the machine some but Joslin was able to use it again Two of the Rosses were arrested by Constable Sayer and taken to St. Anthony, where they had their preliminary hearing and were bound over to the District court and gave bonds for their appearance. From the reputation of this gang they are about the most undesirable citizens in this section of Fremont county, having proved themselves to be a set of thieves and would not stop short of any deed of violence. Rigby Star. Reserve reeling in North Idaho You get a very correct idea of how the people of North Idaho regard the forest reserve business from read ing the following expressions of the Sand Point (Kootenai County) News: "Some of the politicians of the central and southern part of the state are stretching the matter pretty far when they accuse Senator Heyburn of opposing the forest reserve policy of Ohief Forester Pinchott on ulterior motives. Living as we do in the timber of Idaho and in a country where there are more acres of forest reserves than in any other county we, speak advisedly when he says that Senator Heyburn is taking the . stand he does in this matter for the reason that it is not the best interest of his constituency that such a large aoreage of this section of the state be placed in reserves. The News knows from coming in oontact with the masses of people of this northern end of the state, that placing of such a large aoreage of this section in forest reserves meets with the disapproval of the people and that Senator Hey burn has hundreds of good honest, conscientious settlers backing him up in the stand he is taking. The creating of forest reserves in the southern part of the state may be all right as, from what the News has been able to learn of that section, the timber is not so very valuable and the land if it wore cleared would not be of any value for argicultural pur poses, while by retaining the scrubby growth of pine on the mountains in that section tbe snows oan be held until later in the season and thus afford more water for irrigation. -Now while that condition of affairs may exist in southern Idaho it is different in this section of the state. The timber here in the finest quality of white pine and cedar and atfer the same is removed the land is the best in the whole state for a'gri cultural purposes, raising small grain, hay, fruits and vegetables in profuiaon. Then again irrigation is not needed in this section of the state, so that the removing of the timber would not injure anyone i® anyway, but on the other hand would result in the country being settled up with a thrifty class of farmers. This being the case why should not Senator Heyburn, living as he does in the northern part of the state, take the stand he has against the placing of all this vast wealth of timber and rich agricultural land into reserves and blocking the development of the riohest section of the state." A Touching Story is the saving frotu death of the baby girl of Geo. A. Kyler, Cumberland. Md. He writes : "At the age of II months our little girl was in declining health, with serious throat trouble, and two physicians gave her up. We were almost in despair when we re solved to try Dr. Kings New Discovery for Consumption, Coughs and Colds. The first bottle gave relief : after taking four bottles she was cured and now in perfect health." Never fails to relieve and cure a cough or cold.
