Fugate Thursday afternoon, February 20, with a small attendance owing to the inclemency of the weather. The next meeting will be with Mrs. W. H. King; Miss Birdie Cook assisting her, March 6th. Roll call will be "How can I help boost club work." Not only the Good Cheer club but any club that will help the community. The Misses Hattie and Mabel Vas sar gave a neighborhood party at the Imme of Sam Vassar Sunday after noon. A very pleasant time was re ported. _ O. C. Robinson and family of Cald well were visiting the former's parents Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Robinson, Satur day. They left on the evening train for Los Angeles, Calif., where they hope the climate will be of benefit to Mrs. Robinson 's health. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Groves, Mr. mid Mrs. Jake Arnold and daughter, Willie, were Sunday dinner guests of the Scott Davis family. Word comes from Mrs. C. C. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Messier and Mr F. H-inscm of Horseshoe BenH were the guests of the L. S. McElwain family Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. T.ee Thomas returned Wednesday after a two weeks stay at Hot Lake. Oregon. Thev report Mr. Thomas's health improved. Milliner who has been nursing flu patients at RichfiHd for several weeks, returned last Tuesday. Miss Laura Rickstead and nephew Donald were callers at the W. C. Fugatf home Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. W. H. King was a Nampa visitor Saturday. Miss Florence Summers of Canyon was a guest of her cousin, Miss Ethel Fugate, Sunday. James Shaver, a nephew of J. A. Shaver, who has been in training in the light artillery at Camp Lewis for several months, returned recently and is ill at his uncle's at present. Thc many friends of the C. A. A Williams will be glad to know that the land suit against Dr. Oliver Leiser was settled out of court, and that they will remain on the place. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Bright and family moved to Deer Flat, Monday. Earl B. Heighton arrived from ■Camp Lewis last week; where he was discharged from the army, and is visit ing at the J. H. Waters home, before returning to his home in Montana. Marion Smyth, Who is working in the Y. M. C. A. in Boise, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Smyth Monday night. Craw ford, who has been on special duty in France for several months, saying he has been returned to Battery B 146th Field Artillery for duty, and is now with the rest of the Nampa boys on the Rhine. Campbell will be pleased to know that he has been discharged from the army and arrived in Caldwell Saturday night from Camp Stuart, Va., where he was stationed several months. W. Robertson is preparing for a big stock sale Friday, Feb. 28, it his ranch north of the school house. Mrs. O. M. Hamilton attended the annual dinner and entertainment given by the Woman's Relief Corns to the G. A. R. veterans, on Washing ton's birthday, in Nampa. A very fine time is reported. ***************** + TEN DAVIS NEWS * ***************** A farewell reception was given for Rev. E. F. Gray at the Grange hall, Wednesday evening. At the first of the evening a short program was given. Among some of the numbers were, addresses by H. I. McLaughlin and W. J. Evans; solos by Mrs. Earl Conners and Mr. Bay; letter from Mrs. Gray read by Selma Sebree; song by the pupils of the school; reading, Mr. Gray. After the program the ladies aud men matched hatchets for their partners for supper. Ice cream and cake was served. After supper every body played Happy is the Miller until they were tired out. We all had a very good time but we wished that Mrs. Gray could have been with us. There is not one in the community who isn't sorry to see Mr. Gray leave, and we all hope to see Mr. and Mrs. Gray again soon. A. W. Andrews finished moving Tuesday.
