The Passenger train was deluyed

ident of Rebekahs paid the local lodge
here a visit lost Saturday night. Bite
addressed the members of the Rebeknh
and I. O. O. E. Jouges here after which
a banquet was served. All had a good

man, Washington were visitors here

MASONS—A special meeting will
he held next Thursday evening and
all members are requested to be pre
sent. There will be work.
P. T. Fraser, the well known con
tractor of Lewiston spent yesterday in
town while en route to the timber.
The gun club members gave him a
whirl at the traps. Come again.
Dr. and Mrs. Hunter and little son
we'e passengers on last S vurdays tia n
for Lewiston. They leturned the next
day.
J. A. Rhildts, the well known grain
man of Lenore has become a member
of the Kettenhach Grain Company
and was recently elected secretary of
ilie Company. He lias moved his
family to Lewiston and will make it
nis future home.
Jus. Langdon County assessor came
down Wednesday to collect taxes on a
new cur load of buggies unloaded here
last week by the Spaulding Buggy Co.
On arriving however lie found that
the buggies were consigned to various
individuals which prevent him from
collecting taxes. It is a pity that there
is not some better way of reaching
these people and compelling them to
pay for the privilege of doing business
in tins state.
Mrs. Norman LeCornu and children
left for tiieir home near Walla Walla
Tuesday after a few weeks visit here
witti iter parents Mr. and Mrs. George
Wiight.
There are rumors of big deals in and
about Keqdrick whicli if consummated
will meau many changes.

B. church has commenced his work
in tills field and will have his family
itéré shortly. He formerly was pastor
of the same work and is thoroughly
acquainted with churactor of the field
Rev. Ball the former pastor has accept
ed work near Walla Walla.
A. P. Hamley circulated a petition
this week against the draining of the
water from the lower end of Main St.
This should be a matter that should
be looked into and the council should
go slow before undertaking something
which may not be beneficial.
Artie Decker of .Moscow is visiting
this week at the home of his uncle Mr.
M. C. McGrew.
People of the Potlatch will have
abuudant opportunity to celebrate the
Fourth of July this year. Gold Hill,
Juliaetta, Leland and Cavendish will
all celebrate and each one is offering
great attractions. Gold Hill has secur
ed the service of Congressman French
as speaker of the day ami in this lias
quite a drawing card. But all tlie
other towns are advertising features
peculiar to themselves and our people
will have the choice of any kind of u
celebration they may desire.
