KendricK Gazette Ralph B. Knepper, Publisher Entered as second-class matter 1892 at Kendrick, Idaho, under the Act of Congress of March, 1879. Hoover has finally declared his politics by consenting to be a can didate on the republican ticket for the presidency. Evidently in Mr. Hoover's judgement the republican party has the best chance to win. In the neighborhood of twenty car loads of baled hay have been ship ped into Kendrick for distribution to the farmers in the adjacent ter ritory. This is one result of the high price of wheat and if continu ed much longer would no doubt develope a condition where farmers would buy their eggs, butter, can ned milk and vegetables. We heard one well-posted farmer say not long ago, that he could have made more clear money if he had cut all of his spring grain for hay, instead of having it threshed. Hay is high here but when it has to he hauled up the grades over the bad roads it is very expensive feed. Who was the bird who was kick ing a short time ago because the Potlatch was suffering from a lack of moisture? The snow storm yesterday created the impression that fur caps would be the chic thing for the Easter sea son this year. The organizers of the nonpartisan league are endeavoring to curry favor with the American Legion. They point with pride to the loyal ty of the members of the league and are lavish with their promises of what good things they are going to do for the ex-soldiers when they get the power. Bunk won't go with the American Legion. Such promises make a hit with Wobblies and Socialists but the members of the American Legion have means of getting at the real facts in the case, as its officers are among the brain iest men of the nation. They will hardly tolerate the patriotic at titude now being assumed by the leaders of the league, when the big gun, 'lowpely, was convicted of dis loyalty and interfering with the draft. Whenever the American Legion lines up with the nonpar tisan league it is the preliminary to the grand finale that will turn civil ization into chaos. They used to call city girls chick* ens, but now they have changed their name and are called Easter eggs because they are hard boiled and hand painted. ■TfreKITCnm OWE Our days so tense, oft make me think— I know twill make you smile— I'd like to he an nborlg. ANIMAL FOOD IS ESSENTIAL Farmer Makes Mistake In Neglecting Any of Elements In Ration Stimulating Eggs. Mnny poultry flocks which receive an abundance Of fine quality grain do not lay many eggs In the winter due to a lack of animal food like soui milk, buttermilk or beef scrap. Many experiments by practical farmer* prove the value of both beef scrap and sour milk In the hen's ration. Over the Hill With Gladys Hulitte Is scandal-telling justifiable in a newspaper? Between loyalty to a friend and loyalty to an employer—which would you choose? Would you hare the nerve to defy your employer to shield a friend? The picture also asks the question "Does yellow journalism pay?" and answers in the negative. It tells how a young girl alone in the world, is able to put a daily newspaper on its feet on the only right and clean basis. This picture is nothing but a dandy good comedy drama and Miss Hulitte surely shows you something different, new and very pleas ing. A good Ball Game in this picture.
