It should be borne in mind that every cold weakens the lungs, lowers the vital ity, makes the system less able to withstand each succeeding attack and paves the way for the more serious disease. Can you afford to take such desperate chances when Chamberlain's Cough Remedy, fam ous for its cures of bad colds may be had for a trifle.—Adv. There can be little question that Latah county has fared better than 'most of the counties of Idaho dur ing the hard times. There have been no bank failures and sacarcely a business failure ol any conse quence. This condition is no doubt largely due to the splendid agri cultural resources of the county. Nez Perce county has a record al most equally as good, except for the failure ot one small bank. If all bootleggers were rounded up and given a sentence with a kick in it, instead of a 30 to 90, day suspended jail sentence, the luster would gradually wear off of the moonshine industry. Six months hard labor on the county roads star ing a moonshiner in the face would have a kick in it bigger than a barrel of "white mule". The action of the business men of Deary in refusing to sign another lyceum contract for next season, is worthy of emulation. Unless the lyceum circuit puts on better talent than has vipited this town the past two seasons, there is no reason why a few business men should guarantee to force this class of entertainment upon the public. Advertising is the open invitation that leads customers to your door and eventually dollars intoyour till. It's certainly worth while to spend effort, time, thought and care in its preparation. Job owned 7 sons, 3 daughters, 7.UOO sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 donkeys. He lost them all, but he said everything would be all right in the spring. Superintendent Daniel is to be congratulated in securing a date with President Upham to speak here for the Lincoln Day program, Mon day night, Februay 13. Those who delight in hearing a speaker ot extraordinary ability, will derive a gieat deal of pleasure in the ad dress which President Upham will make here. It is to be hoped that there will be many who will take advantage of the opportunity. If all of the remedies that are being advanced for the betterment ct the condition of farmers, were adopted, chaos would certainly be with us. Every cure-all that is ad vanced has its followers. However, the general sentiment that now seems to prevail is that the world is sick and our ablest flnanciers are not able to diagnose the case. When all other business enterprises are running smoothly, the farming in dustry will also have come back to its own. The garage next door to the print shop has been forced to get water from us on account of frozen water pipes. It's all right to advertise free air, but a little hot air goes a long ways toward keeping pipes thawed during these snappy times. A carload of Holstein and Dur ham dairy cattle were shipped to Moscow recently to be sold at pub lic auction. The idea was to im prove the dairy cattle of that sec tion and to supply a demand that existed for stock of that class. The same thing might be done here. As soon as this section begins to adopt dairying and diversified farming, prosperity will follow and the price of wheat will not be a matter of such great importance. METHODIST CHURCH. C. A.
