Success will be realized from every stand point—the exhibits are good and every class in the floral hall is to In fact it's a perfect bower of beauty and shows well what the county can produce. The fruit exhibit is very large, all kinds of fruit from the entire county. The mines have done their share toward makiug a good showing and some very valuable ore is being shown. The stock pens a are pretty well filled, but if any where we are Bhort it is in the live stock exhibits. The opening day, Tuesday, found us a little unprepared and Wednes «lay might properly be designated as the first day of the fair. As predicted, the contest for queen waged mighty warm on the dosing night, Saturday, but Btites succeeded in carrying off first hon ors, Miss Hazel Toye of that place being elected by a majority of | 2 , 000 . Miss Paula Hohaus was second aud Miss Bertha Gahagan third, giving them the position of maids of honor. The crowning of the qneeu Wed nesday afternoon was a very beau liful spectacle aud the sceue an impressive one. The band stand erected at the intersection of Hall aud Main Btreets was used as the crowning room and the queen and her maids of honor, beautifully gowned, rode in their carriage to the scene of the crowning. The queen occupied the center seat and her maids of honor were on opposite sides, under an exquisite canopy filled. \ Fine Pianos go tumbling Selected instruments that were to be exhibited at the Idaho County Fair were delayed in transportation and will arrive in Grangeville Saturday. All are to be sold at greatly reduced prices and on easy terms of payment, if desired, in order to close them out quickly and save return freights and handling. This lot of exhibition pianos is composed of the very finest selected Kimball, Cable, Schubert, Kensington, Chickering and the wonderful Pianola Piano—the piano that anyone can play. All are of the very latest case design, in fancy San Domingo mahogany, French and Circassian walnut and antique oak, and, as stated before, were especially selected for exhibition at the Fair. At the sale $217.00 will buy a piano that has always sold in this city for $350.00; $256.00 buys the $375.00 to $400.00 styles, etc. Sale opens Saturday at 3 p. m. Eilers' Piano House At Gibson & Allens covering and tbe royal carriage wae drawn by a team hitched tan dem. Proceeded by the band, the royal procession wonnd its wav through the throng on Main street to tbe band stand. After ascend ing the platform, Reese Hatta baugb, in a few happy words of welcome in which he traced the growth of Idaho county and its prosperity from tbe Indian war of 1877 to the present day, called upon the queen and her maids to arise, when one of the maids placed a blue plush pillow upon the plat form and tbe other maid handed to the speaker the golden crown and shield, which was bestowed upon the queen. After the rend in 8 of the proclamation 0 f the queen ,h ® ,r *° of were d,,1 y iu ' stalled upon their thrones to reign throughout the fair, The free attractions have not been just what they should have have been owing to tbe inability of the carnival company to get their freight up from Stites but they have been doing everything pot, Bible under conditions. Today they expect to put on every act as ad vertised and then throw in a lot of extra features of amusement to make up for the lack of entertain ment Wednesday. Friday there will be a repetition of every adver Used feature and new specialities. They have six first-class shows and are giving a free open air exhibition in front of each of them. Among them we might mention, the Thaw White Case, tbe Old Plantation, Dancing Girls and Vaudeville, Female Highwayman, the Coliseum and the Oriental Dancing Girls. At a meeting of the directors, held this morning it was decided to hold the fair another day. The bad weather and delay in getting the attractions here has held the fait back a great deal and therefore the directors decided to hold it over from Friday and make Satur day the day of all days. A number of special attractions have been arranged for and it is the intention of the management to make Saturday the best day of the fair. To a committee headed by Ru dolph Bertsch $250 was ordered turned over from the general fund, to be used in making this the big gest day of the fair. Of this sum Mr. Bertsch and his committee have decided to speud a large amount for free fire works both night and day. The attraction committee have arranged for a grand parade of King Rex and his followers. Sat urday will be the big day, and you should not fail to be present. It's Good Old Camas. Silas Austin, wife and children, returned last week from a visit of several weeks with relatives in Arkansas. Mr. Austin says they of couise enjoyed their visit with the home-folks hut as far as the country down there being in ad vance of the west or a better place for a progressive fellow there is no comparison. Mr. Austin has been here for some time and always re turns from his visits toother points more than pleased with Camas Prairie and its surroundings as a place for the progressive man.
