of town where they will reside for the

The ball game last Saturday at
Kamiah between our team and the
Kamiah Indians, resulted in a victory
for the latter by a sçore of 13 to 7.

A young man named Helmann,
working with the N. P. surveyors,
taken to the company hospital at
Missoula yesterday. It appears that
he fell from a log on which he was
walking and jarred his internal mec
hanism in such a manner that the
railroad physician here advised a trip
to the hospital.
General Agent Jordan and one of
President Elliott's right-hand men
were here this week getting pointers
on the movements of railroad surveyors
in this locality. It is no sham battle
Pis time between the Hill and Hnr
.inian lines and if indications count
for anything, the railroad game in the
Clearwater country will soon come to
show down. Things are edging in
that direction every day.
L C. Harrington came in this week
from a six months' sojourn trapping on
the Selway. He brought down five
cougar hides, six bobcats and a lot of
small furs, hut were it not for the
bounty on cougar the furs would not
have given hint much pay for his hard
winter's work. He claims that he
had eight cougar hides in all, but three
them were taken out by his partner,
who claims the bounty, and this mat
ter is yet to be settled.
