CLARKSTON, Wash. April 9.— The regular meeting of the city council will be held at the city hall tonighc when the quarterly reports of the clt 7 officers will be submitted for approval. The treasurer and police departments will have the more Interesting reports. Marshal McBride has sold over BO d >g license tags in the past month, and at this time haB several canines in the city pound waiting the call of their owners. City bills incurred will also be paid at this meeting. The Silcott road proposition which has been started by the city Chamber of Commerce it is said will be brought before the city council and a stat» ment regarding its feasibility asked for. The Chamber of Commerce Is working for its construction and ha3 thus far succeeded admirably well In the work. Trees Are Blooming. The peach and plum trees on the Clarkston flat are in full bloom. Ex perienced fruit growers state that they do not fear a late frost now, because of the weather conditions surrounding the lateness of the spring. The trees are loaded with blossoms, and should everything move'as predicted a laige fruit crop is in sight. White Brothers & Crum have been looking the ground over preparatory to starting the work of re-establishing their packing house. They now have men working among the fruit grow ers of the flat contracting for the sea son's output of fruit. A meeting of those interested in a city band was held at the Fern con fectionery store last evening, when H L. Allen of Lewiston was appointed directed of the organization at a Balary to be fixed later. The band has had no leader for the past six months, sine the departure of the former condue tor, and it has drifted away from He organization. • The plan of the band is now to give Saturday evening concerts in Clarks ton and to take the same prominert place in Clarkston affairs as does the Lewiston band on that side of the river. Af rehearsal has been called M Thursday evening, the meeting to be i held at the city hali. There are 20 pieces enrolled on the roster of the bahd. It will be supported by popular contribution, for which a petition is being circulated, monthly payments to be made by business men and private individuals.
