People have been in town from every section of the country buying supplies. All of the merchants report a good busi ness and holiday stoexs are will cleaned up. The evenings entertainment was intersperced with singing by Mr. Adams, who has an excellent voice, and also with instrumental music by Mh Hyde. An exhibi tion of such merit deserves better patronage than was accorded it here, and those who missed the treat have lost part the knowledge obtainable in this life. The holiday week has been a pleasant one. Great quan tities of holiday goods were sold by our merchants and all little hearts and many big ones have been made happy. The pleasure part began Monday night at the school house uptown, gotten up by Misses Crowel and Leonard for their school children. The same evening a Sunday school concert was given in the L. D. D. meeting house by the children uptown. The affair was splendidly given to a good house; Tuesday evening a dance was given uptown. Wednesday evening a stere opticari show was given in the L. D. Al thdligh not so largely attend ed as former ones, ail present had à good time. This same night ailso a Christmas tree was had at thé Presbyterian church for the benefit of Sunday school Scholars: Christmas day a childrens party was given in the L. D. S. meeting house and in the evening the annual ball was held there, both of which were largely attended. All of the events passed off pleasantly and were immense ly enjoyed by our citizens.
