Albert Anderson of Boulder, who was in the city Tuesday, reports the best crop of grain in five yeaes. JamesGathrum of Provo is visit ing at the home of his father-in-law, .1. C. Boren. Dr. O. C. Engebretson, tne veter inary surgeon was in town Wednes day on professional business. Mrs. Martha Koren and her sons Leo and Charles Horen of Provo are visiting with the Boren brothers of our city. Eugene wilson, of the U. S, Mar ines, left WednesdoY for Rhode Inland after a few days' furlough at home Eldon Dahlquist left Wednesday to visit relatives at Buhl. He will leave Saturday to take military raining in California. Miss Louie Ball, druggist at the Rex.-ill store, is able to he at work again after a few days' illness. Mrs. Lafayette Poulton of Chur chill visited Saturday and Sunday witti her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Haight. L. Pettit of Pocatello, assistant general manager of the Gem State Lumber Company, was in Oakley Tuesday. George Platt of the Lann Ranch was in the city Tuesday. He report ed the loss of twenty sheep from bloating on alfalfa. Milton Scott of nurley has been in Oakley a few days this week helping to print this issue of the Herald. P'red Halverson has been seri ously ill with pneumonia, and as we go to press, he is still in a critical condition. Nelton Anderson and family and the Misses Emma and Marie Berninger and Mae Mortenson left yesterday for a visit at the Anderson dry farm near Roger son. of Mrs- Van Wyman died of pneumonia last Sunday right. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday by Bishop John Adams on the lawn in front of his residence. Lewis R. Cri tch field was guest of honor at a dinner given by his aunt, Mrs. VV.T. Harper, Sunday, Oct, 2 0. Between 2 5 and 3 0 of his friends aud relatives were present, among whom were Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Wilson of Burley, Mr. Hnd Mrs. L.
