After the democrats have expended much energy and time in the s lection of persons to fill the various offices occasioned by the confcemplted resignations of officers in this county it is lean.cd today that many of the officers will not resign owing to the fact that there is some qu stion is to whether they would he considered citizens of the new county of Bonneville, and in the even tof their not bel g considered citizens of that district, they would resign h re only to be out of jobs an ■the way round. It is understood that C. S. Beebe, who was a candi date before the primaries, for the nomination of prosecuting attorn y in this county on the republican tick et. and who was defeated by the peo ple's vote in the capital city, ac companied by Judge J. M. Stevens, and their mission there is to s cure the appointment of Mr. Beebe to the position' of pros cuting attorney. All the county officers and all wiho would like to be officers left this morning for Boise to talk to the governor. POWER COUNTY BILL IS PASSED. Old Bingham Gets Another Slice Taken Off At The Extreme South ) ern End Of Her Anatomy. The Capital News of Monday has the following relative to the creat ing of of Power couir.ty: — Hiouse bill No. 130, by Burrell, the Power county bill, was first taken up. Burrell explained the bill and argued its merits and claims. He claimed it would have a total assessed valua tion of $1,820,000, of which $1,100, 000 comes from Oneida county, and most of the balance from the rail road valuation to be taken from Blaine county. He said the distance by railway to the county seat mow wes 19G mil s and by wagon road 72 miles over two mountain ranges, im possible of passage during the winter season. They have 1451 school child ren in the proposed county, showing a population of about 4,500 people. Friend stated that he wished cu' be half of Blain county to protest a gaiinst division of that county without adequate recompense. Arthur said he realized that a sen timent exists to divide many count ies tin the state by the legislature. He opposed division and declared that th portion proposed to be tak en pays as much tax to Blaine coun ty as half tiie patented land, in the en tire county. He said the whole plan is a scheme for the perosnal benefit of a few merchants and bankers of Am iriean Falls. Davis of O eida spoke in favor of the new county, stating that the old county is willing to have the division made. He urged that it is a meas ure which will greatly b nefit the people concerned as well os the old coui .ities. On roll call the bill passed by a vote of 35 to 9, with 15 not vot ing. Those v;ting the negative w re Arthur, Bower, Dunning, Eekles, San horn, Friend, Stephens, Walker and Wil ion. CURE YOUR KIDNEYS.
