The analysis of water throughout the State has far some time back engaged the attention of the Depart ment of Chemistry. As a conse. quence, the analysis of soil samples, which was first delay by fire and than by lack of prorer facilities for their analysis, bas been compelled to suffer neglect, because of the al most exclusive attention of the Department to the current work that was sent into the laboratory.
