Alex. Lloyd, has returned from Salt Lake where he has been at tending school. He will officiate as assayer at Prince Consolidated mine during at least a portion of his vaoa- tlon. An effort is being made to collect an attra-tive mineral exhibit from the mining camps of Nevada for display to the delegates and visitors to the licit seston of the American Mining congress, which convenes at Gold filed next September. The Record is in receipt of a com munication from .Milton M. Doteh. secretary ot the board of mining con gress commissioners, in which the writer sets forth that solicitors have been chosen to visit the various mining districts for the purpose of collecting minerals for this exhibit. "We have chosen these solicitors." Julius Weir Jr., was held to await tha action of the grand Jury by Justice Alfred Perkins last evening, at the conclusion of the preliminary Wearing which lasted not quite two days The prisoner's bond was fixed at $3,003, but up to the hour of going to press a sufficient num ber of sureties had not been obtained .. and the defendant was still In the custody of the sheriff. Young Weir, his father and moth er, Julius Weir Sr., and Mrs. Kate Weir, were arrested on the 12th inst. at Bristol Wells on a warrant is sued for thtm from the office of Dis trict Attorney John M. Breeze, they having been suspicioned as being res. ponsible for the death of Charles Todd, whose body was found at the bottom of a well near the Weir home by Antonio Bissio and Wl'.liam Gar ton about ten days ago. Many witnesses were examined dur ing the progress of the hearing In the justice court; but Justice Per kins concluded that insufficient ev idence was produced to connect ei ther the elder Weir or his wife with the alleged crime.
