Meredith and Tabor started home, but were followed by the Hungarian and his friends, who were making threats against Meredith and Tabor. When they became too threatening Tabor, who was armed, tired into the crowd and shot one of the m *n in the leg. Meredith being olosed pressed by the man "who was drink ing. being unarmed, picked up a rock and threw it at his adversary, with such precision that he struck him and fractured Ills skull. Roberts has resigned his position as secretary of the Btuefleld Graham Chamber of Commerce and will go to Johnson City, Tenn., to accept an editorial position there. Mr. Roberts has been very active in connection with the organization and work of the chamber and his place as secretary will be hard to fill.
