Again the time for the citizens of Bluefield to exercise the right of citizenship lias arrived, and it is tin sacred duty of us all to exercise those rights without fear or favor. To vote for the best interest of our city, morally, financially and intelectunl ly; to look upon the election and its results as a matter that affects your home, for that is ail a city is- a collection of homes. When you cast your votes, cast them for the men whom you think will he the safer guardians of your city—your homes, if, on either ticket there is a man in whom you haven't confidence, in whose hands you would not care to trust your personal affairs, do not vote, to entrust into his keeping af fairs of your city—your collection of homes. Stand for an honest, clean elec tion and see to it that your neighbor stands for the same. If you have a vote do not fail to cast it. If you haven t a vote, work for the men in whom you have .confidence. The Good Government' party has nominated a clean, pure and intelect ual ticket; one that will be a credit to the. city of Minefield and protect Its every interest. Tf we did not believe this we would not uphold them, for we. place private honor above party loyalty. Above every thing 1 >t us have a pure, clean city administration and frown with scorn upon any attempt to pollute the name of your city. Mr. Good Citizen, you have no higher duty than to exercise your right of suffrage in th‘ interest o. good, clean government. There, are those who would pollute the ballot box with the purchasable vote. There is nothing so dangerous to our free institutions as the element who sell their votes for what the cor rupt politician will pay. By this process your rights are bartere ! away. Our officers should be el *ct cd by the best and most intelligent electorate Instead of those who are In politics for what can be gotten out of them. No more sacred right was ever conferred upon a people ♦ han that of the suffrage, but It be comes a most dangerous factor when presented for selfish ends. bonder if the city administration will have the cheek to claim a sur Mutt again since city drafts have been going by default for sometime?
