Washington. May 9.—The confer ence report on the army appropria tion bill wa« taken up and agreed to in the house yesterday. In the aliape In. which it was presented from the conference committee it carries an aggregate appropriation of I9B.3A2.24 6. The principal Item of Increase is $7,000,000 for addi tional pay for officers and enlisted men of the army. With the various changes made in conference, the bill represents a .total increase of $3, 263,151 over it.he amount author ized by the house. Chairman Hull explained that the total number of soldiers on the re tired list was 94 2. and that the in crease to them would approximate $200,000.
