FI Bailg %eax FOR 1909 “* TN the election contest in this County the Daily Leader finds some satisfaction in the result. Notwithstanding Taft car ried the county by 1,100 majority, a reduction of nearly 300 from the result four years ago, the Democrats elected^a mem ber of the County Court and the Prosecuting Attorney, and the remainder of the County Ticket'was defeated by a very small majority. With the same reform forces at v, ork. in 1910 we can easily carry the County elccien. The Dem ocratic party in state and nation is more united than it has been in many years and the Leader will continue its fight for decency, morality and honest government in West Virginia with an abiding faith’that the right will eventually triumph. In the language of Hon. Louis Bennett, “we have not made the4fight in vain; West Virginia may now expect a cleaner, better, more economical and business like administration than we have had since the dominant party came into power. Though defeated our party is more cemented and in better lighting trim than for many years. The next political battle will surely bring us all we ask for," The managers sincerely~thank thoss who have so loyally stood by the Leader in the campaign and earnestly solicit a continuance of their patronage and good will. We have sev eral hundred short term subscriptions expiring within the next few weeks and we trust that they will all renew before their term expires. ————i—————— S M. SMITH, President. J.
