' Great Russian Oil Fire
The results of the great Russian
oil fire at Bebe-Albat during the
latter part of September is summed
up as follows in the English re
ports:
AtNobels' property there were
17 derricks destroyed, in addition
to steam engines, reservoirs, wharf
pump bouse, dwelling house, 6o,
000 poods of crude oil and about
1,000,000 puods of oil from the
Ogulev.'tch spouter. On one of the
plots of the Baku Russian Petrol
eum company five derricks were
destroyed while at the Baku Nap
tha company four pumpiDg derricks
and five drilling ones and 700,000
poods of crude oil met a similar
fate. The damage at the Caspian
and Black Sea society's property
was also great, and included 15
derricsc, three tanks, a building
containing air compressors, 35.0C0
poods of crude and about 2 500,000
poods of spouter oil from the Ogule
vitch property, ar.d on group 20,
belongi g to Zoubalog 6 pumping
derricks and 5 drilling ones, an
open reservoir, and about 3,000,
000 poods of oil from the Ogule
vitch spouter were destroyed.
With regard to the Schibaleff com
pany, 3 pumping derricks, 2 tanks
office, boiler house, wharf, 60,000
poods of crude and 20,000 pcods of
oil from the Ogulevitch spouter
were burned, while the properties
of Mill ft and Ogulevitch also have
severe losses, which include over
500,000 poods of crude oil, this be
log in addition to the heavy oil
Icsses Ouglevitch has sustained as
recorded above.
This makes a total oil loss of
over 8.030,000 poods, which at 8
poods to the barrel, is equivalent
to 1,000,000 barrels.

Martinsville Dispatch erected in
that town a few months since.
There has been no flood to destroy
it. We would also like to have a
little information in regard to the
B. & O. railroad j-hops the D's
patch located there and the new
Industrial town it founded and
known as Iron City. The Dispatch
man should keep his readers in
