The list herewith presented shows the principal new industries loca ted in the Southern States during the week ending to-day, as re ported to The Tradesman. Some notably large transactions are re corded. Among these is a $5, 000,000 copper company in Okla homa, a $4,000,000 fertilizer com pany in Kentucky, a $1,000,000 lumber company in Mississippi, a $1,000,000 coal mining company in West Virginia, and several companies of several kinds in other states capitalized at from $250,000 to $500,000 each. The list of new industries this week is an unusually full one, and yet it must be remembered that 7nen tion is only made of those which are considered of the greatest im-l portanee. The information con tained in this list is an eloquent testimonial to fhe progressive spirit of the south, and a sure in dex of its steady and substantial growth.
